General Health Benefits Of Ingesting Colloidal Silver

By Stella Gay

History has shown that the rich outlived the poor in large numbers during the Bubonic Plague, and many believe it was due to the fact that their food and drink was always served in silver goblets and bowls. While modern medical professionals will not admit openly that this is true, a detailed look at history reveals the fact. Those who follow a more traditional system of health maintenance stand firm in their belief that this is just more proof that there are health benefits to colloidal silver.

Better nutrition and being clean is often cited as the reason wealthy outlived poor during this time. While there may be some truth to the benefit of better nutrition, wealthy aristocrats were not all that much cleaner than their peasant counterparts. Due to fears of being accused of witchcraft, all cats were killed in the wealthy houses as well as the poor, and bathing was not regarded as a necessity for anyone.

So while their clothing may have been more fine, the bodies of the upper class were just as ridden with lice, and the beds were just as full of fleas as any peasant. In fact, these parasitic insects were somehow regarded as good luck by most people. Let us not forget that these were the Dark Ages, so called because fundamentalist Christianity had led mankind into an age of ignorance and paranoia.

It was tradition and a sort of vanity of lifestyle which allowed the aristocracy to continue eating and drinking from sterling. People from the Renaissance may have had some knowledge, now lost, telling them that this material promoted good health. However, the unwashed masses of Dark-Age Europe did not knowingly seek to protect their health in this way.

Wealthy people did die of the Plague in large numbers, but the percentage of wealthy to poor who survived was large. Not only was it the one-percenters of their time, but Nuns and monks also had the benefit of eating and drinking from silver, and they survived in larger percentages as well even though they were the ones who tended to the sick. With that much exposure, one must research what it was that they were doing different.

As many people lean towards more homeopathic solutions to their health problems, an interest has grown around the methods that people used in the past to maintain health. This has brought many to analyze the habits of people during the Plague, and question why some survived while others did not. Many homeopathic practitioners cite that this metal acts as an agent which aids the blood in fighting bacteria, viruses, and even fungus.

The research conducted has been limited, and largely funded through private means. Universities and hospital scientists are discouraged from researching any homeopathic remedies by pharmaceutical companies who provide much of the funding for their institutions. It is possible that the pharmaceutical companies themselves may be conducting studies whilst preventing others from doing so in order to either corner the market, or eradicate the notion of such healing all together.

One is given to ponder this metal and the well-established qualities attributed to it. The pharmaceutical industry is known for taking compounds out of nature and synthesizing them into a chemical with a consistent dose in pill form. If they have found a way to synthesize silver, then they have either placed Pandora back in a box, or they have opened a massive can of worms.
